OFF:
No sidescan data is output by the sonar processor.
AVERAGE:
At longer ranges, sidescan data is compressed to 1024
samples for each side (port and starboard) using an average value
process.
RMS:
At longer ranges, sidescan data is compressed to 1024 samples
for each side (port and starboard) using an RMS value process.
FULL:
Sidescan data is not compressed. All data points are used for the
sidescan image. This can result in a very large number of data points.
5.9.8.4
Activate Snippets (Snippets)
for details.
Off:
Disables the Snippet mode and returns the system to its normal
operating condition.
Uniform:
Outputs snippets, the lengths of which are roughly
proportional to the bottom detect point of any specific beam.
FlatBottm:
Outputs snippets, the lengths of which are roughly
proportional to the size of each beam‟s footprint on the bottom.
5.9.8.5
Test the Projector (Projectr)
Allows for testing the transmit array and defining the operational opening angle
for the transmitted beams.
ScanTest:
Reserved for maintenance testing.
SteerTest:
Reserved for maintenance testing.
Steer x.x
:
Where x.x
will be 1.5, 3.0, 4.5, or 6.0 degrees. The selected
value will be steered beam opening angle. The recommended value is
1.5
, however a wider beam may be necessary to ensure full coverage
when moving fast in shallow water.
5.9.8.6
Set Pitch Stabilization (PitchStab)
Although the projector moves with the vessel, the transmitted beam can be
dynamically steered through pitch angles of
15
. The PitchStab menu option
allows for the selection of Pitch Stabilization options.
OFF:
Pitch stabilization is not used.
STAB:
Pitch is stabilized using the most recent value from the Motion
Sensor.
