You can disable this option using filename flags or CJM files. To disable audio scale,
use
noaudioscale
in a CJM file or
NS
as a filename flag. It is not expected that you
will need to disable this option very often when running other programs on THEC64.
NTSC OR PAL
The main area of THEC64 display (the dark blue area in BASIC on a C64) is pixel-
for-pixel the same size for both a C64 NTSC and a C64 PAL computer. A light blue
border (in BASIC) surrounds this main area, and this border is vertically smaller (has
less display lines) on an NTSC C64 computer than on a PAL C64 computer.
The amount of the border that your TV displays can also vary from one TV to another,
due to a technical feature called overscan. This means that a varying amount of the
border is hidden from view.
None of these facts are really significant on THEC64 unless a running C64 program
uses the border area to display additional information.
VERTICAL SHIFT
By creating a CJM text file for use with a program loaded from a USB stick, you can
set a vertical shift value that moves the middle area of the screen up or down by a
certain number of lines to reveal more of the hidden portion of the top or bottom
border area on the C64 computer model.
For example, if a game uses the bottom horizontal border to add a game critical
display panel, then you can move the central area up the screen to reveal more of the
display panel.
