FIRING HEAD 95-43012-101 (DK-99S-1) OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION:
The DK-99S is based on a stored spring force. By pulling out the release toggle the knife is
released and penetrates a diaphragm and releases the content of the cylinder. The DK-99S body,
the penetration knife and top nut are produced by brass. The spring is stainless steel and the
release top is plastic. It has (1) 3/8-18NPSM outlet.
Lifetime: 20 years after production date.
DK-99S are designed and approved to operate CO
2
, N
2
and compressed air with a max. working
pressure of 300 bar. The DK-99S models are approved in according to SOLAS and the MED
regulations.
The DK-99S's are marked with serial number and production date.
The DK-99S's are activated by pulling out the release top. The red safety cap brakes during
activation, to indicate the head has been activated.
The DK-99s are greased and ready for installation when received.
When a DK-99S is packed in the container with the raft, the painter line and the release top must
have an allowance, allowing the raft inside to move without pulling or stressing the release top. If
too tight, unexpected release can occur.
FITTING THE DK-99S TO A THANNER CYLINDER ADAPTOR:
Before fitting the DK-99S's to the adaptor, carefully inspect the knife is in loaded position. The
edge of the knife must be in level with the end of the thread of the DK-99S.
Visual check to see if the o-ring (11) is correctly fitted, intact and greased. The DK-99S is screwed
into the cylinder valve by turning by hand clockwise and tightened it.
Torque the DK-99S operating head to 50 Nm (37 foot pounds).
