Using ENHANCE function
To recognize small echo targets more easy, the echo points can be enhanced in three steps:
‘Slight’, ‘Medium’ and ‘Strong’. The button [ENH] shows always the set size.
To select another value, click [ENH]. A window pops up and shows all four alternatives.
Click the needed one. The popup closes and the ENH button shows the new setting.
Target differences between ‘Enhanced Off’
and ‘Enhanced Medium’
See the small part of radar image in both
examples.
In 'Off' state the coastline is shown clear enough, but the single targets are only bad visible little yellow
points. In 'Medium' state, the single targets are much more recognisable, but nevertheless good enough
differentiated.
Note:
Enhancing may cause merging of targets which are close one to another. So it should not be used in
overcrowded short distance areas like in harbours, channels and rivers. There the result will be a diffuse
image presentation.
Effect of Enhance function
With the Enhanced function, targets are enlarged in a way that
original target position stays in centre of target image.
[ENH Off] [ENH Strong]
Note:
Enhancing has no effect on rain and sea filtering and it generates no time delay in image information.
Result of settings in respect to chapt. 3.3.6 to 3.3.9
Regarding the examples 1 to 6, with ‘Target Enhance’ is set to medium, this
finishing result should be satisfying.
