3.2.3- During use of the ladder 

1.

 

Do not exceed the maximum total load recommended for the ladder; 

2.

 

Do not overreach or lean out of the stiles; user should keep their belt buckle (navel) inside the stiles 
and shall stand with both feet on the same rung/step throughout the task; 

3.

 

Do not step off a leaning ladder at a higher level without additional security, such as tying off or use 
of a suitable stability device; 

4.

 

Do not stand on the top three steps/rungs of a leaning ladder; 

5.

 

The ladder should only be used for light work of short duration; 

6.

 

Use non-conductive ladders for unavoidable live electrical work; 

7.

 

Do not use the ladder outside in adverse weather conditions, such as strong wind; 

8.

 

Take precautions against children playing on the ladder; 

9.

 

Secure doors (not fire exits) and windows where possible in the work area; 

10.

 

Face the ladder when ascending and descending; 

11.

 

Keep a secure grip on the ladder when ascending and descending; 

12.

 

Do not use the ladder as a bridge; 

13.

 

Wear suitable footwear when climbing a ladder; 

14.

 

Avoid excessive side loadings e.g. drilling brick and concrete;  

15.

 

do not spend long periods on a ladder without regular breaks (tiredness is a risk); 

16.

 

Leaning ladders used for access to a higher level should be extended at least 1 m above the landing 
point; 

17.

 

Equipment carried while using a ladder should be light and easy to handle; 

18.

 

Maintain a secure handhold whilst working from a ladder or take additional safety precautions. 

19.

 

When standing on the ladder, never move the ladder into a new position. 

 
 

IV. GETTING STARTED

 

 
4.1- Unpacking: 

Remove product from its packaging. 
Check that product and accessories are not damaged 

 

4.2- Locking mechanism:

 

The collapsible ladder locks every rung with two steel locking pins that automatically spring into place 
when the ladder is opened (extended) to the correct position. 
Each locking pin is connected to a locking lever (Fig.4) to indicate the locking status. 
- Locking pins are engaged (fig.4): the locking levers (3) drop down at an angle of 60° and the sliding 
locking levers (4) are against the end of the rung. 
- Locking pins are released (fig.5): the locking levers (3) are inside the rung and the sliding locking 
levers (4) are positioned towards the middle of the rung.
