GlobalScan Configuration Checklist

The following checklist is designed to ensure that you have addressed each step in the GlobalScan
configuration process. Should you need further information on a specific topic, simply click on the page number
to link with the applicable section within this guide.
Important
: This checklist assumes that GlobalScan firmware has been properly installed in the MFD (by an
authorized service technician) and that the pre-installation procedures and software installation (including Plug-
ins, if applicable) have been completed. See
GlobalScan Server Software Installation Guide
for details.

Configure the MFD
Via the MFD’s control panel, enter the GlobalScan
Server IP address, communication protocol
(HTTP/HTTPS), and proxy server settings.

Add a profile
Set general information the MFD uses during scan
operations (profile name, attachment file size limit,
machine reset time), default scan settings, Novell
and LDAP connectivity settings, etc.

Enter/select e-mail
settings within the
profile
Choose one of four different mail systems and
establish all email-related options, e.g., LDAP
lookup settings, email body text, Cc, Bcc, Reply

public folder
(local/network)
Select Scan To Home (if NT or LDAP [with Active
Directory] authentication is selected) and/or Scan
To Folder settings (public folder path/description).

projects within the
profile
You must create one or more projects, i.e.,
identify default scan settings, primary
authentication method and Services to run on the
MFD, e.g., E-mail, Scan To Folder, Fax, etc.

RightFax and/or OCR options are installed.

party Framework, e.g., Livelink, FileNET, etc., is
installed.

Reboot MFD(s)
This is necessary if GlobalScan Server or MFD configuration settings have
been changed.
