If no operations are performed for the time selected for the setup menu

picture display will dim or the camera will turn off automatically to save power.
Basic Setup
Setting the Language
A language-selection dialog is displayed
the first time the camera is turned on.
Highlight the desired language and press
the MENU/OK button (to proceed without
selecting a language, press

Setting the Date and Time
The dialog shown at right will be displayed;

hour, minute, second, or date format and

Press the MENU/OK button when settings
are complete. A confirmation dialog will
be displayed; press the MENU/OK button
again to set the camera clock.

• To stamp pictures with the time and/or date of recording, select [Date] or

• To retain the date and time settings, load a battery with adequate remaining
power for more than two hours.
• If the battery is removed for more than one week, the date and time settings
will be lost. These settings must be made again.
