Using Focus Lock to Take Pictures
Normally, subjects within the autofocus range as seen in the viewfinder and on the
LCD monitor are in focus. Under certain conditions, however, the desired subject may
not be in focus. In such cases, use the Focus Lock to assure that the desired subject is
in sharp focus.

■
Use Focus Lock at times like these
When the desired subject is not within the
autofocus range, resulting in a sharply focused
background and blurred subject.
When an object other than the subject occupies
most of the autofocus range, resulting in that
object being in sharp focus while the main
subject is blurred.
Macro focus can be used to take close-ups.
