BEFORE replacing the NVRAM
1. Print out a full SMC before executing the following procedure in case upload/download fails.
2. Turn off the main switch.
3. Remove the SD card slot cover on the back of the machine.
4. Insert a blank SD card in Slot 2.
5. Turn on the main switch.
6. Open SP 5824-1 (NVRAM Data Upload) and touch [EXECUTE]. This will upload the data on
the NVRAM to the SD card.
7. When you see "Completed", turn off the main switch
8. Remove the SD card from Slot 2.
Note
It is recommended to attach a label with the serial number of the machine on the SD card
to prevent insertion of a wrong card.
9. Replace the NVRAM according to the field service manual.
AFTER replacing the NVRAM
10. Insert the SD card with the stored data in Slot 2.
11. Turn the main switch on.
12. Open SP5825-1 (NVRAM Data Download) and touch [EXECUTE]. The system will find and
download from the SD card the .nv file that matches the machine serial number.
13. When you see "Completed", turn off the main switch.
14. Remove the SD card from Slot 2.
IMPORTANT
When using AC transfer function, make sure to change the value in SP2-830-001 to “1” after the
procedure is completed. (if not, it will not be functioned well)

IMPORTANT
If the AC power supply unit is NOT installed in the mainframe, make sure to change the
value in SP2-830-001 to “0” (OFF) after the completing the procedure.
