Replace a Quick-Release Recorder on a Producer IIIN 

Use this procedure to replace a quick-release recorder in a 

Producer 7100N™ and Producer 8100N™

Rimage approved parts must be used for this process. The product warranty may become void if parts not approved by Rimage are 
used; equipment or parts are tampered with, misused, neglected, or modified in any respect without the written consent of Rimage. 

 

Notes:

 

 

Your system may not look exactly like the system pictured. 

 

The term “PIIIN” is used throughout this document to refer to the Producer 7100N or Producer 8100N. 

Before you begin  

1.  Stop or pause all jobs. 

2.  Power off the 

embedded

 

control center.

 

3.  Power off the

 PIIIN

4. Disconnect 

the 

power cord 

from the power outlet.

Required tools

:

 

 

None required 

Remove the Recorder

Caution! Some cables in this system are latched. Equipment damage may occur if cables are not disconnected 
appropriately. 

1. Open 

the 

front door

2.  Access the cables on the recorder to be replaced. 

a. Gently 

squeeze together the 

quick-release tabs

 

while the pulling the recorder out. The recorder 
detaches from the system. 

 

 

b.  Using the tab on the left, pull the 

recorder

 out until 

you can access the cables. 

 

3. Disconnect 

the 

cables

 (Qty. 2) from the recorder.

SATA cable

Important!

 Disconnect the cables at the positions 

indicated. If there is no bridge board, disconnect 
the SATA cable directly from the back of the 
recorder. Do not allow the cables to fall back into 
the system.
