INSTALLATION 

Continued 

Adjusting Open/Close Force

The Safe-T-Gate Swing utilizes an internal compression 

spring and a roller cam to return to the closed position. 

NOTE:

To avoid surface damage, use a 2nd person to 

hold the 

Rails

 when removing or attaching the 

Bracket

1. 

Remove the 3 1/4-20 bolts and lock washers (A) 

 

that secure the internal mechanism to the 

Post

.

2. 

Slide the 

Bracket with Rails

 up until it separates 

 

from the 

Pivot Post

3. 

Adjust the 3/4” locking nut (B) as required to 

 

change the operating force.

To increase the open/close force: 

Tighten lock nut to compress the spring

To decrease the open/close force:  

Loosen lock nut to decompress the spring

4. 

Slide the 

Bracket with Rails

 back onto the 

Post

  

and replace the 3 bolts and lock washers (A).
