Electric Horn Wiring & Hardware Kit
Installation Instructions For 2014 & Up Spyder RTs
#EH335
1.
Open the mounting kit and familiarize yourself with the supplied parts. Open the
horn set and its hardware. Discard the supplied wires from the horn set, these will
not be used.
2.
Using pliers, bend the wire terminals on both horns up at a 90 degree angle as
shown in photo (1A). Be sure not to bend the terminals at their original bend, but
rather,
back about 1/8” as shown.
3.
Locate the 4 supplied brackets. Stack two brackets together with the punch marks
mid bracket, facing the same direction and the same size holes at both ends. Place
the brackets onto the studs on the backside of the horn, then position as shown in
photo (1). Install the supplied 10mm flange nuts and tighten the brackets securely
while holding in the shown position.
4.
Locate the two shorter wire assemblies. As shown in photo (1B), connect the
terminals with two wires each to the horn on the right, and the other end with
single wires on each terminal to the horn on the left.
5.
Open the forward trunk lid, then unzip the cover to the rear of the compartment
exposing the battery cover. Remove the two T-25 Torx screws from the battery
cover and remove the cover. Remove the left side cover by first carefully pulling
outward on the lower edge, then upper edge of the cover. Remove the black grill
to the rear of the side cover.
6.
Remove the 13mm bolt securing the stock horn and unplug its wires. Locate the
supplied relay. Referring to photo (2) and the wiring diagram, connect the original
horn wires to the supplied relay, as shown in photo (2A) to terminals 86 & 87.
Using the original horn bolt, position the two new horns as shown in photo (1).
Install the horns as shown in photo (2). Adjust or rotate the two horns so that they
are not in contact, or resting against each other or any other component as this
will mute the horns. Then tighten the mounting bolt securely.
7.
Referring to the wiring diagram: Connect the remaining wire from the horns with
the female blade terminal to the relay
’
s terminal 30 or 87. Referring to photo
(2B), remove this engine cover Torx screw and connect the ground wire from the
horns with the ring terminal to this screw - then tighten securely.
8.
Connect the supplied wire with the fuse to the b
attery’s (+) positive terminal
.
Route the other end of the wire out the rear of the battery compartment, up to the
horns and relay. Referring to the wiring diagram: Connect the fuse wire to the
remaining outer terminal 30 or 87 on the relay.
9.
Press the horn button to test the horn set. Replace the black grille, left side cover
and battery covers.
