Potentiometer (Operating Set Point for Standalone Operation)
The PIM ignition control will continue to operate the HeatStation to an internal setpoint (default is 140°F) should the
touch screen control fail or communication between the two devices is interrupted. The internal set point can be
adjusted using the potentiometer. This mode is intended as a temporary mode offering simplified heating for
emergency heating situations. The controlling sensor will be the
boiler supply sensor.
IMPORTANT
: It is recommended that at the time of
commissioning, the startup technician adjusts the potentiometer
to the desired set point displayed in the
OPERATOR
screen
located in the
SOURCE
control system menu. Do not use the
index printed on the PIM. Only use the
OPERATOR
displayed
Value for adjusting. (See Potentiometer Adjusting the setpoint

10.14 Outdoor Reset Operation (INSTaller level access)
The Outdoor Reset function can be used to automatically adjust the Target setpoint up and down in order to provide
the optimum system temperature based on changes in the outdoor temperature. Lowering the system temperature
when then the outdoor temperatures are warmer can improve the efficiency of the boiler as well as the system heat
exchangers. Raising the system temperature during the coldest weather can reduce up front system costs as well
as improve the space heating comfort level. When Outdoor Reset operation is desired, there are additional control
settings that need to be made in order for this function to be enabled.
The following parameters are located in the
SETUP MENU

RESET, SETP,
EMS,DDHW, POOL
The default application mode is SETP, to enable Outdoor Reset,
change this parameter setting to RESET.
OUT DSGN
-60 to 45°F
This is the outdoor system design temperature for the installation.
OUT START
35 to 100°F
This is the outdoor temperature that would require any heating.
Boil START
BOil MIN to 150°F
This is a theoretical temperature that would be required
Boil DSGN
70 to BOil MAX
This is the system temperature required to meet the heating load at
the outdoor system design temperature.
WWSD
35 TO 100°F
Warm Weather Shut Down is an outdoor temperature at which natural
heating of the building will meet the heating needs. This will not affect
operation from a DHW call for heat. If you wish for the boiler to continue
when the outdoor temperature is above the OUT START temperature,
set this to OFF.
BOil MIN
OFF, 60F to 180F
Boiler Minimum calculated set point (HEAT TARGET). Caps the lowest
set point to operate the boiler. If OFF, calculated setpoint can go below
expected values.
BOil MAX
OFF, 200F to 70F
Boiler Maximum calculated set point (HEAT TARGET). Caps the
highest set point to operate the boiler. If OFF, calculated set point can
go higher than expected values.
