B Class Atlantic 85 Manual – First Issue, June 2017
Activity 11 - Unplanned Maintenance
The bottles have a different operating head to the one
found on earlier types of B-Class (Atlantic 21 or 75). The
head is manufactured by Leafield Marine Limited and
requires special tools to set up for operation and to reset
after firing.
The bag is similar to previous designs but is larger in size. It
retains the relief valve at the top, the manual filling valve
for testing and the Henderson hatch for deflation. The
relief valve is set to lift between 3.25 and 3.4 psi.
NOTE
The roll bar is a critical part of the righting system
and is potentially subject to high loads. Any damage
should be reported to the mechanic or Divisional
Base and a thorough inspection carried out.
Similarly any damage to the lacing should
also be reported.
On-board mercury switch
The on-board mercury switch cuts the trim/tilt and deck
lights circuits. This switch is sited in the bottom right hand
corner of the isolation box, located under the port side of
the helmsman’s seat. The switch is tested by unclipping
and inverting it to illuminate the LED. The switch is reset
using the button on the forward end of the isolator box.
For any unplanned maintenance, raise a ‘maintenance
request’ through AX .This will then be sent to the divisional
maintenance manager.
