2-2-10 VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
(1) Position the piston at the top dead center of
compression stroke by matching the alignment
mark of cooling blower with the alignment mark
of crankcase.
(2) Loosen the nut under the rocker arm and turn
the bolt (pivot) to adjust the clearance between
rocker arm and valve stem end.
Tighten the nut on rocker arm.
(3) Install rocker cover and gasket.
M6 x 75 mm bolt : 4 pcs.
Tightening torque
6.5 - 9.5 N•m
(65 - 95 kgf•cm)
(4.7 - 6.8 ft•lb.)
Note:
Check and adjust valve clearance
while engine is cold.
Check operation of valves by
turning crankshaft. Then recheck
the valve clearance.
Valve clearance : 0.07 - 0.13 mm
(0.0028 - 0.0051 in.)
Tightening torque
7 - 9 N•m
(70 - 90 kgf•cm)
(5.0 - 6.5 ft•lb.)
Note:
Temporally fit the flywheel in position
for easy operation.
