GENERAL WARNINGS
- Before each use of the accessory, ensure that:
• It is visibly in good condition;
•
It complies with all work regulations regarding installation, periodic inspection, maintenance and use;
•
The load rope and hooks are in good condition (e.g. no signs of wear, bending, corrosion);
- The winch must be inspected and maintained regularly by a competent person to ensure its safe use. It must be checked for
any signs of corrosion or premature wear, depending on the working conditions.
- Ensure that all persons who are to use the winch are properly trained, familiar with all functions and operations to be
performed with it, and aware of all regulations and safety requirements.
- The winch must only be used in full compliance with all safety regulations and standards applicable at the place of use
regarding the installation, use, maintenance and inspection of lifting equipment.
- The winch must be placed under the responsibility of a person who is fully familiar with all applicable regulations at the place
of use and who has the authority to enforce them.
- The installation and commissioning of the accessory must be carried out under safe conditions for the installer, in accordance
with the applicable regulations.
- Beta Utensili S.p.a. declines all responsibility for the use of the accessory in any configuration of use and assembly other than
those described in this manual.
- The accessory must be fixed and anchored to a structure with sufficient mechanical strength to withstand the maximum
working load (WLL).
- When using the winch, the user must ensure that the load rope is constantly under tension by the load, and that it is not
temporarily held by an obstacle during descent. This may cause the rope to break when the load is released.
- When using the accessory, the user must ensure that there are no obstacles that could damage the rope.
- If more than one accessory is used to lift a load, a lifting diagram must be drawn up and approved by a qualified technician.
- Beta Utensili S.p.a. accepts no responsibility for the consequences of using the accessory in combination with other lifting
devices from other manufacturers.
- The operator must continuously observe the load in order to prevent any risk of restraint during lifting operations (ascent or
descent).
- The winch, including the load rope and hooks, must not be disassembled or repaired by unauthorized personnel. Any
unauthorized disassembly or repair releases Beta Utensili from any resulting liability.
- The accessory must not be modified. Beta Utensili S.p.a. accepts no responsibility for the consequences of any modifications
made to the accessory, or for the removal of parts forming the accessory itself.
- Beta Utensili S.p.a. guarantees that the accessory supplied will operate only if it is equipped with original parts and
components, including the rope, in accordance with the specifications indicated in this manual. The replacement of original
parts and components, including the rope, with those of another manufacturer releases Beta Utensili S.p.a. from any liability
for any resulting consequences.
- The maintenance table at the end of this user manual must be kept as up-to-date by a competent person.
- When not in use, the accessory must be stored in a place not accessible to persons not authorised to use it.
- If the winch is to be permanently removed from service, all environmental protection regulations applicable in the country of
use must be observed.
- The operator must ensure that he has stable support before operating the winch; otherwise he must be adequately protected.
- During operations, no activity should be undertaken that might distract the operator's attention.
- Before using the winch, the operator must ensure that he has a full view, and that the environment is properly lit, to avoid
personal injury or damage to equipment.
- The operator must not leave the winch under load unattended for long periods of time; if this condition cannot be avoided, the
operator must ensure that this will not create a hazard to persons or equipment.
