6.2.2 Direct flexible coupling
Slide the half couplings into the shaft of the pump and of the motor using suitable tools.
Warning: Do not use a hammer to slide on the half couplings
Secure the half couplings with security dowels, which will push on the keys. Place the pump at the distance S from the motor as indicated
in tab. 10. Align the shafts of the pump and of the motor and, where necessary, insert shims under the feet of the motor and/or of the
pump. Check the alignment by using comparators or gauges with scales as shown in fig. 13.

6.3 Bearings
Up to size 21, the bearings are self-lubricated and do not require greasing
For pumps size 30 40 and 60 lubricate bearings according the maintenance plan through grease nipples on the bearing brackets. Use
one of the grease type shown in tab. 11.

6.4 Soft packing replacement (/TT version)
For size 30 40 and 60 provided with soft packing seal it is necessary to replace the seals once high leakage of liquid is noticed externally
or when an excessive amount of air is returning to the pump (in this case the pump is unable to reach the required vacuum). To carry out
this operation, extract gland ring and the old packing rings; introduce new packing rings one by one with junctions staggered of 90°
assuring the original arrangement of 3 rings towards the internal pump side and 2 rings toward the external side with the lantern ring in-
between.
6.5 Automatic discharge valve replacement
For size 30, 40 and 60 it is possible to replace the automatic discharge valves 60 disassembling inspection cover 16 as indicated in fig.
14.
Disassemble inspection cover also for cleaning internally the bodies of the pump.
