Step Install

Remove stock steps or rocker guards if equipped.

Remove the front body bolts on the driver and passenger side
(under the front door) using a 19mm socket and wrench.

Loosen

the rear two body bolts (under rear passenger doors) using

a 18mm socket and wrench. DO

NOT

REMOVE THESE BOLTS! You

will need these bolts to support the slider you are about to put into
place on the Jeep.

Using a 19mm socket and wrench,

replace the front body bolts on the

driver and passenger sides with the

130mm bolt, then the large washer,

and the aluminum spacer on top.

Thread back into front body mount until
it hangs loose.  Do

not

tighten yet.

Move the slider into it’s position on the Jeep. You may want some
help so that you can support the weight of the slider. Take extra
care when positioning the slider on the Jeep to prevent any scratch-
ing or marring of the painted surface.  (Location of final install)

Ensure the Step Slider is flush against the body and tighten up the
body bolts to hold the step in position.  Check to ensure there is no
gap between the body and the strap of the step.  They should be flush
and tight.

Starting at the rear, lightly use a small punch to make a small indent
to guide your drill in the center of the hole.  Drill your hole using a
1/8” drill bit as a pilot hole then using a step up drill, enlarge the
hole until it is 17/32” (just under 1/2”).  It is better to drill them
slightly smaller then enlarge them with a small grinder head until
the nutsert just barely slips into the hole.

At the front of the vehicle you will encounter the sheet metal and
then about 5/16” behind it another solid piece of sheet metal.  You
will have to drill through both in order to mount the nutsert correctly
into the outer sheet metal wall.  All other locations have no sheet
metal behind them.

Remove step slider from vehicle. Using a Nutsert Tool install one
nutsert per hole.  Take care to ensure nutserts crimp straight.

Install step slider back onto the side of your vehicle  starting at he
center using the supplied 5/16” bolts and 5/16” stainless steel wash-
er.  Apply Anti

-

Sieze to each bolt before installing them into the

nutserts.  Install 5 bolts and washers per side (10 per side with the
Body Armor style).  Tighten by hand with a 3/16” Allen Wrench.

Tighten Body Mount bolts until snug but do not overtighten.
