If condense collector vessel is used then this is not suitable for Instrument cycles or extended
time Free Steaming cycles. A portable condense collector should always be positioned in a
safe place. As an option an autoclave mounted fan cooled condense outlet can be supplied.
INITIAL CHECK OPERATION PROCEDURE
Before switching on power, check that the chamber drain valve is shut. This is reached
after removal of the side panel.
Switch on mains power.
Check that the controller lights up and displays the appropriate start up messages.
Check that the time and date are correct.
Most machine parameters will have been set to suit the machine prior to despatch,
however you may need to set the Free steam and Instrument options to suit your customers
requirements. For further details on the use of and setting machine parameters refer to the
engineers manual
Press the door open button to release the door (Insertion of an engineers card will allow
the door to open under any circumstances and can be used for testing purposes.)
Unscrew the door bolts.
(note: do not force bolts open, only use door open button).
Insure that any packing materials are removed from inside the autoclave chamber.
Fill the chamber with water until display stops displaying ‘Low water’ message
Close the door and tighten the bolt (tip of bolt must register on a safety switch located
behind the bolt and which is set to prevent operation-Listen for a beep from the machine
then tighten a further quarter turn).
Check that door is closed securely
Set the time to 3 minutes and the temperature to 121ºC, all other program options to off
Press the start button.
The machine should run through a cycle
Check constantly for any leaks of steam or water
At the end of the sterilising period the chamber will start to cool
When temperature falls to 80ºC ‘Cycle complete’ will be displayed.
OPEN THE AUTOCLAVE using the open door button as described above
Perform a pressure relief valve test
Check constantly for any leaks of steam or water
If required perform independent temperature calibration as described in the maintenance
section
Allow the machine to cool
Complete customer acceptance documents e.g. IQ/OQ Protocol (available on request)
OPEN THE AUTOCLAVE
THE AUTOCLAVE IS NOW READY FOR USE.
SAFETY NOTE
Operators must wear a visor, heat protective gauntlets, a laboratory coat with sleeves, suitable
