Preventing Double Notes when Working with a Sequencer
(Local Control)
When you have a MIDI sequencer
connected, set this parameter to “OFF”.
Since most sequencers have their Thru
function turned on, notes you play
on the keyboard may be sounded in
duplicate, or get dropped. To prevent
this, select “OFF” so that the keyboard
and internal sound generator will be
disconnected.
ON (default)
Local Control is on. The keyboard and internal sound generator are connected.
OFF
Local Control is off. The keyboard and internal sound generator are disconnected. Playing the
keyboard will not produce sound.

Choosing the USB driver
If you’re trying to connect the F-120R to your computer via a USB cable, but are unable to connect
successfully, using the Roland original driver may solve the problem. Normally, you don’t need to
install a driver. However, if some problem occurs, or if the performance is poor, using the Roland
original driver may solve the problem. After setting “USB Drv” to “ORG” on the unit, install the driver
on your personal computer. After changing this setting, you need to save your changes in the
Memory Backup (p. 21), turn off the F-120R, then turn it back on again.
For details on downloading and installing the Roland original driver, refer to the Roland web site.
GEN
Choose this if you want to use the standard USB driver that was included with
your computer. Normally, you should use this mode.
ORG
Choose this if you want to use a USB driver downloaded from the Roland web
site (www.roland.com).
