In order to exchange filter element in the suction return filter
proceed as follows:
– Before opening the filter housing, make sure that the
hydraulic system is absolutely pressureless and the oil fill-
ing cap is open.
– Remove the four cover fixing screws and keep them for
future use.
– Take off the lid of the suction return filter.
– Remove with a slight twisting motion the separating plate
with the attached filter element.
– Dismantle the pulled out unit into separating plate, filter
element and dirt collection tray.
– Clean housing, cover, separating plate and dirt collection
tray. A metal protective strainer is installed in the sepa-
rating plate. Check the inner side of the strainer on metal
chips or other foreign bodies. This protective strainer fil-
ters the hydraulic oil, e.g. "sucked" from the hydraulic oil
tank by a dirty filter element or at low temperatures.
– Check the filter on mechanical damages. Damaged parts
may not be installed again (they must be immediately
replaced).
– Check the O-rings and replace any damaged parts.
– Moisten sealing surfaces, thread and O-rings with fresh
hydraulic fluid before installation.
– Always use a new filter element.
– When inserting a new filter element use the provided with
it O-ring.
– Mount the separating plate, filter element and dirt collec-
tion tray in one unit.
– Insert the separating plate with the attached filter element
and dirt collection tray with the slight twisting motion in the
filter head.
– Place the cover on and screw the fixing screws in again.
The tightening torque for the fastening nuts is 40 Nm.
