If a fan has failed, the system alarm will beep and the Fan Fault LED will light up. In addition, the

fan board will display a fault LED for the defective fan. Follow these procedures to replace the

failed fan.

CAUTION    Be sure the power is not applied and the fans are stopped completely
before removal.
ATTENTION Assurez-vous que le pouvoir n'est pas appliqué et les ventilateurs sont
arrêtés avant de les enlever complètement.

1. After determining which fan has failed, turn off the power to the system.

2. Unplug the fan wiring from the serverboard and remove the failed fan.

3. Place the new fan into the vacant space in the housing while making sure the

arrows on the top of the fan (indicating air direction) point in the same direction

as the arrows on the other fans.

4. Reconnect the fan wiring to the exact same chassis fan header as the previous

fan used.

5. Power up the system and check that the fan is working properly before replacing

the chassis cover.

Replacing a defective RAID Hard Disk Drive

Follow the instructions below to remove the Hard Disk Drive Tray from the chassis:

Removing the Hard Drive from the chassis

1.  Press the release button on the drive tray. This extends the drive bay handle.

2.  Use the handle to pull the drive out of the chassis.

De-installing the Hard Drive from drive tray

CAUTION    Always maintain an ESD environment when handling the hard drive
components.
