Please consult Sun’s Recommended Patch List for your OS release. These patches are very important for
correct operation of your system. The recommended patch list can be obtained in several ways:
1) Your local Sun Sales representative
2) The SunSolve CD distributed by Sun to customers with software maintenance contracts
3) Anonymous ftp on the Internet from the host
sunsite.unc.edu
in the directory
/pub/sun–info/sun–patches
as

or

Notes:
*101508 conflicts with the mandatory ROSS kernel patch for 4.1.3_U1. In order to remove this conflict ROSS
has released a new version of the 101508 patch called 101508–10HS. This patch can be obtained from the
ROSS ftp site ross.com as the file
/pub/hypersparc–patches/101508–06HS.tar.Z.
If you cannot
access ROSS’ ftp site please call 1-800-ROSS-YES and arrangements can be made to ship you the patch.
Solaris 1.1.2 (SunOS 4.1.4):
This release of the operating system is not directly bootable by the 55, 66, and 72 MHz ROSS hyperSPARCs.
If you wish to install 4.1.4 on a 55, 66, or 72 MHz hyperSPARC system please obtain the file
/pub/hypersparc–docs/414info.txt
from the ROSS ftp site ross.com (login as
anonymous
and use
your e-mail address as the password).
Solaris 1.1.1 (SunOS 4.1.3_U1):
The ROSS kernel patch for 4.1.3_U1 is NOT compatible with revision A of SunOS 4.1.3_U1. If you are
running revision A, you must install the ROSS patch for 4.1.3 when running extract_patch. To determine which
revision your machine is running, type the command
showrev
and look for the
Release
line. The
Release
line tells you the OS and the version (see the following information).
