8.3 Fuses
The fuse is an electrical device which can protect a circuit or a device from excessive current.
T
he fuse
consists of a cartridge provided by a thin lead wire through which the rated current of the circuit travels; this
wire is the actual fuse, with a precise amperage load capability. In case of excessive current, the filament
melts and causes the circuit to open.
