Transporting / handling door elements
DANGER!
Incorrect handling and improper transport may cause a
danger to life!
Incorrect handling and improper transport of door elements may
lead to hazardous situations and cause serious accidents or even
death.
For this reason:
– During loading and unloading processes, choose force applica-
tion points which solely generate reaction forces appropriate for
the design of the hardware components for the intended instal-
lation location.
– During handling and transport, ensure that the hardware is in
the locked position – only one turn of the key is permitted on
V and E cams – to prevent the door from swinging open uncon-
trollably. Use suitable protective devices.
– Only use transport safety devices that have been adapted to the
specific clearance.
– During transport and handling, the door leaf must be secured
against the frame using suitable supports (run-up blocks,
wedges, etc.). Do not remove the cylinder fixing (transport
safety mechanism) until you are about to install the cylinder.
NOTE
During transport and loading and unloading processes –
especially when tools such as suction lifters, transport nets,
forklifts or cranes are used to provide assistance – reaction
forces which cause damage to or incorrect loads on the
installed hardware may occur.
You should therefore pay attention to the following information
for all transport, loading and unloading processes:
– Always choose force application points so that the resulting
reaction forces are deflected as appropriate for the design of
the hardware components for the intended installation location.
This applies to the bearing points in particular.
– Do not lift the door element by the lever handle.
