Winch does not turn in
direction ROPE OUT.
Insufficient hydraulic supply pres-
sure.
Attach a pressure gauge to the pressure
connection of the motor and measure the
hydraulic pressure. Correct the pressure if
required.
Absent brake release pressure
caused by damaged O-rings at
brake piston or nozzle.
Disassemble and inspect the O-rings at
brake piston and nozzle. Replace if re-
quired.
Brake cannot be released due to
contamination in the nozzle.
Disassemble nozzle. Clean nozzle or re-
place if required.
Damaged winch motor.
Replace winch motor.
Winch vibrates in di-
rection ROPE OUT.
Air in hydraulic oil
Ensure that the hydraulic oil is clear. If the
hydraulic oil is milky or cloudy, then there
is air in the hydraulic system. Check the
hydraulic oil and replace if required.
Winch leaks oil.
Hydraulic oil leaks from between
the motor and the primary base due
to a damaged O-ring.
Disassemble the motor and inspect the O-
ring and sealing surfaces. Replace dam-
aged parts.
