Registration Sensor
The registration sensor allows the bagmaker to use registered film.
Because registered film has artwork printed at evenly spaced intervals,
the bagmaker must seal the film between the printed sections. In order
for it to accomplish this, it must detect the location of the printed sections
and position them relative to the horizontal sealing device.
The bagmaker detects the location of the printed sections by detecting
marks (registration marks) printed at the edge of the film web. Once the
bagmaker has referenced the film, it can position the film to be sealed
at any location.
In order for the sensor to detect the registration marks, the lens of the
sensor must be positioned in the path of the marks. This is accomplished
by using the sensors adjustment lever.
