Starting use
The appliance can be put into operation after removing the packaging. Proceed as follows
for this:
1. Make sure the heating level switch (see Fig. 2, No. 3) is in the OFF position. Then connect
the oil radiator to an earthed socket protected with an earth-leakage circuit breaker.
2. Now switch on the appliance by pressing the heating level switch (see Fig. 2, No. 3) to
the desired position. A red pilot lamp lights up. The following applies here*:

When first put into operation or after a longer period without heating a short-term
odour can arise.

Setting the temperature
1. Start the appliance by setting the desired heating power using the heating level switches
(see Fig. 2, No. 3).
2. Turn the temperature control (see Fig. 2, No. 2) clockwise as far as it will go.
3. Once the desired temperature has been reached, turn the temperature control anti-
clockwise until you hear a distinct click. An integrated thermostat control now auto-
matically switches the appliance on and off, thereby ensuring an approximately constant
temperature.

Switching off the appliance
1. Switch off the heating level switch (see Fig. 2, No. 3) by pressing it.
2. Pull the power plug out of the socket.
Wait until the appliance has cooled down before covering it or putting it away.
