Installation of Antenna System DELTA 1000 S
Antenna position:
The antenna system DELTA 1000 S should be mounted at the mast-head. No other antennas should
be mounted above the antenna system.
Antenna mounting:
Mount the antenna DELTA 1000 S to a vertical surface with 4 screws of 5 mm diameter. If the antenna
holder delivered with the antenna is not used, take care that the holder used is not thicker than 1.5
mm.
Antenna cable:
For the antenna system DELTA 1000 S coaxial cable with a characteristic impedance of 50 Ohm is
used, preferably Aircell-7 or Belden H2000 Flex. An N-plug is used at the antenna side of the cable.
An optional disconnecting point at the mast-heel may be established with BNC- or N-connectors.
Attention! UHF connectors (PL connectors) may NOT be used for this antenna system! Keep
the antenna cable to the distribution box AV 303 as short as possible. Important: Keep the plug
strain-relieved! Check the antenna cable for short circuit before connecting it!
Important: All metal parts of the antennas as well as the connectors must not have electrical
contact to other metal parts of the ship because the shield of the cable is connected to the
negative element of the power supply.
Installation of the distribution box AV 303:
Mount the distribution box AV 303 in a way that the connectors are on the left side. Then the terminal
„Mobile Telephone“ is at the upper position, the terminal „DELTA 1000 S“ is in the middle and the
terminal „VHF“ is in the lower position.
Install the distribution box AV 303 below deck near the instruments connected. All connectors of the
AV 303 are of BNC type.
Connect the mobile telephone to the AV 303 terminal „Mobile Telephone“ using a short cable.
Connect the antenna cable to the AV 303 terminal „DELTA 1000S“.
Connect AV 303 terminal „VHF“ to the VHF radio.
Power supply:
For the antenna system DELTA 1000 S no power supply is needed.
To guarantee a perfect working antenna it is mandatory to do the installation in a workman-like
manner.
Any faults caused from neglecting these instructions are excluded from the manufacturer's
warranty. In case of doubt consult a specialist.
