4-digit (count up) and 6-digit (count up or down)
counters
The counter value can be set to any value when selecting 4 or 6-digit
counters.
1. Press [
▲
] to set the digit.
2. Press [
¨
] to shift to the next digit.
3. Repeat 1 and 2 to set counter setting.
4. Press [MESSAGE] to confirm counter setting and advance to next
item.
5. The counter value will increase by one digit with each printing.
Note:
In normal display mode, you can change the printer message
anytime by pressing [
¨
].
Each message has its own 4-digit counter to keep track of
stampings. If no message is selected, the time printer provides
an independent 4-digit counter.
There is only one 6-digit counter which can count up or down.
If no key is pressed for 15 seconds, the unit will resume normal
display automatically.
Alarm
Press [CLOCK/ALARM] in the normal display to enter the alarm mode.
The ALARM indicator will flash.
Press [
▲
] in the alarm mode to toggle the alarm status indicator (alarm
ON/OFF).
If no key is pressed for 10 seconds, the unit will automatically resume
normal display mode.
Alarm setting
In alarm mode, press [SET] to enter the alarm setting mode. The
HOUR digits will begin to flash.
Press [
▲
] to set the alarm hour.
After setting the hour, press [
¨
] to shift to MINUTE setting.
Press [
▲
] to set the minute.
Press [SET] or [MODE] to confirm alarm setting.
Counter lock
If a 4 or 6-digit counter is selected for printing, in normal display,
pressing [
▲
] will toggle the counter lock ON/OFF.
When the counter is unlocked, it will automatically advance to the next
value after printing.
Printer error
The P.RESET indicator will show on the LCD display in case of printer
error or weak batteries during printing.
When the P.RESET indicator is shown, the unit will not print. Reset the
printer by pressing [PRINTER RESET] in the battery compartment. You
will hear the printer reset itself. If the printer does not move, replace the
printer power supply with 4 new AA batteries (
RS
stock no. 591-225).
Low battery detection
The time printer has a low battery detection check every hour. If the
display battery is low, the BATT indicator will show on the display.
Replace the display battery with a new CR2032 (
RS
stock no. 597-201)
lithium cell. Do not use for a prolonged period on low battery as it may
cause damage to the time printer. Replace with new batteries
immediately when BATT appears on display.
Ink roll
When printing becomes faint, ink roll needs to be re-inked:
1. Remove ink roll compartment door (fig 1).
2. Use a pair of tweezers or paperclip to rotate the roll counter
clockwise and pull out (fig 2).
3. Apply a few drops of ink onto the roller and insert ink roll back into
place (fig 3).
4. Replace ink compartment door (fig 4).
Maintenance and care
To properly maintain the time printer, please note the following:
1. Do not touch the printer head or belt when printing. It will cause the
printer to malfunction.
2. Replace the LCD display battery with a new lithium cell CR2032 (
RS
stock no. 597-201) as soon as possible when 'BATT' indicator
appears on display.
3. Replace printer batteries with four new 'AA' batteries (
RS
stock no.
591-225) when printer speed slows. Operating the unit with low
batteries will damage the printer.
4. Always cover the battery compartment with door before printing.
5. Do not drop the time printer.
6. Avoid placing the unit under direct sunlight.
The time printer is powered by 1 x 3V (CR-2032) (
RS
stock no. 597-
201) lithium battery (display), and 4 x 1.5V (AA size) (
RS
stock no. 597-
225) batteries (printer).
To install batteries, remove battery door located on back of unit (figure
5) and do the following:
Display batteries
1. Use a coin to turn the battery door in direction indicated (counter
clockwise) and remove (figure 5).
2. Insert a new CR2032 (
RS
stock no. 591-201) lithium cell with (+)
facing up.
Ensure proper polarity is followed
3. Replace the battery door.
4. Check that the display has turned on. If not, please re-insert battery,
making sure battery touches metal contact plates.
Printer batteries
1. With the battery cover removed, insert 4 x 1.5V AA (
RS
stock no.
591-225) batteries, following the correct polarity marking. Use
alkaline batteries for best performance.
2. Press printer reset (figure 7) with paper clip or similar object to reset
printer head. You will hear printer reset itself.
3. Replace battery cover.
