After selecting the serial port, click

. The Serial Port Parameter Setting window is displayed, as shown in Figure
4-3. Set the baud rate to 9600, data bit to 8, parity check to none, stop bit to 1, and no flow control.

Now many PCs do not have Console ports and systems do not support hyperterminals. Therefore, Console-to-USB
cables and terminal emulators (e.g., SecureCRT) are needed.
Parameter Settings
Step 1. Connect both ends of the Console-to-USB cable to the Console port of the device and the USB port of the PC
properly.
Step 2. Right click
My Computer
and click
Management
. Choose
Device Manager
>
Port (COM and LPT)
,
and the
COM port number will be displayed.
