Position the saw on a solid flat surface. Insert your right foot into the saw's sole. See Fig.
16 (The position in the figure is for left-handed. Right-handed users will position
themselves on the other side of the saw).

Use your left hand to grip the saw's handle firmly.
WARNING!
Make sure that the chain does not come into contact with foreign bodies or
other objects when starting. Pull gently with your right hand until you feel resistance and
the starter rope is taut, then pull steadily in one movement. Do not let go of the handle
but bring it back to its original position by hand. Repeat the operation on the RURIS saw
starter until you hear the first sign of starting. At this point stop operating the starter. Push
the choke to position 0. See Fig. 17.

Resume operating the starter in the same way until the saw starts up at high speed,
turning the chain. After a few seconds, operate the throttle lever briefly to stabilise idling.
