10. MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, inspecting or repairing your brushcutter, make sure the engine has
stopped and is cool. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
The user may only carry out maintenance and servicing that is described in this manual.
More complex interventions are carried out in an authorised service workshop.
To sharpen the cutting disc and for other work it is advisable to visit an authorised RURIS
service centre.
Some parts of the transmission work in Vaseline. It is necessary to top up with Vaseline
and check the gear head. The amount of Vaseline in the gearhead should be checked
before each use.
If the cutting disc does not cut properly, it may need to be sharpened or eventually
replaced.
The air filter is serviced before each use. Open the air filter cover, remove the filter
element and wash with warm water and detergent. When completely dry, replace the
filter.
WARNING!
Do not use petroleum products when cleaning the filter. It is mandatory to
replace the damaged air filter, otherwise dust and impurities that may enter the
carburettor and engine unit will lead to damage.
For any problems or misunderstandings on how to work with the machine contact your
RURIS authorized dealer.
If you do not work with the brush cutter for more than 2 weeks you will need to empty the
gas tank and start the brush cutter to consume fuel from the carburetor. At the next use
you will need to fill it with a new mixture specified in the user manual.
