Centre Cutting
Cutting in the centre
of a board can be done
without first drilling a
starting hole.
Rest the base of the
jig saw on the work as
shown without the
blade touching the
work. Then slowly lower the moving blade
against the board. For materials other than
wood a starting hole must be drilled.(Fig 8)
•
Bevel Cutting
Loosen the hex socket head screws at the base
plate by using the allen key and adjust the bevel
adjustment scale to
the angle desired,
then tighten the hex
socket head screws
firmly.
It is often difficult to
cut at 45
0
. In such
cases clamp the work.
(Fig 9,10,11)
■
TWO POSITION ORBITAL ACTION
When engaged, the
orbital cutting action
allows the jig saw to
cut faster on long
length material. It
should never be used
to cut steel. See chart
below for recommended
settings. To regulate
the cutting speed for various materials, turn the
orbital action knob and the variable speed
control to the required positions. (Fig 12)
■
MAINTENANCE
Replace carbon brushes with new ones when
they are worn to 4mm length. The use of worn
out brushes will cause damage to the motor.

WARNING:
Always remove the
electric power cord from the power
supply before changing cutting blade,
lubricating or when working on the
unit to avoid possible serious injury.
WARNING:
To assure safety and
reliability, all repairs with the
exception of externally accessible
brushes should be performed by an
authorised service centre or other
qualified service organisation.
