The paint system allows two people to work at the same
time. When the dual control lever is pushed to the left
paint is
owing into the main outlet only. When the lever is
pushed to the right, paint
ows into both outlets allowing
two people to paint using only one machine.
VARIABLE PAINT FLOW DIAL
See Figure 8.
The variable paint ow dial on the handle makes ad
j
usting
the
ow to the paint roller, cut-in pad, or corner pad quick
and easy. Simply turn the dial left or right until the desired
ow is attained.
OPERATING THE PAINT SYSTEM
See Figure 9.
Using the paint roller or pads:
Install the roller or pads as described in the Assembly
section.
Plug in the machine.
Place the forward/off/reverse switch in the forward
position.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING
When servicing, use only identical RYOBI replacement
parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or
cause product damage.
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or
destroy plastic which may result in serious personal
in
j
ury.
Do not abuse power tools. Abusive practices can damage
tool as well as workpiece.
WARNING
Do not attempt to modify this tool or create accesso-
ries not recommended for use with this tool. Any such
alteration or modification is misuse and could result in
a hazardous condition leading to possible serious per-
sonal in
j
ury.
LUBRICATION
All of the bearings in this tool are lubricated with a suf-
cient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit
under normal operating conditions.
WARNING
Do not clean with any flammable liquids such as paint
stripper, paint remover, brush cleaner, mineral spirits,
lacquer thinner, turpentine, acetone, gasoline, kero-
sene, etc.
CLEANING THE PAINT SYSTEM
See Figure 10-13.
Set the switch in the reverse position. This draws the
paint back through the tubes and into the paint can.
Squeeze triggers. After one minute, turn the machine
off.
Lift the paint system top and remove the paint can.
Replace the original lid on the paint can.
Fill a container with cleaning solution [e.g., warm
water (following the use of water based products) or
Cleaning Solvent / Paint Thinner, or any other non-
flammable paint thinner (following the use of oil-based
products)].
Place the plastic paint container lid on the container,
then close and latch the paint system top.
Place the forward/off/reverse switch in the forward
position.
NOTE:
Hold any handles, tubes, rollers, or pads over
a larger bucket. To clean these accessories, pull the
triggers aiming into the bucket.
When as much paint as possible has been flushed
through the system and all attachments, turn OFF the
machine.
Disconnect all handles and attachments from the paint
tubes.
Connect the cleaning accessory to the paint tube con-
nector.
Set the forward/off/reverse switch in the forward posi-
tion.
