OPERATION
WARNING:
Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless.
Remember that a careless fraction of a second is
sufficient to inflict serious injury.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible
serious injury.

Do not use any attachments or accessories not
recommended by the manufacturer of this tool. The use
of attachments or accessories not recommended can
result in serious personal injury.
APPLICATIONS
You may use this tool for the following purpose:
Hammering nails into all types of wood, wood-like
materials, and plaster board.
BATTERy PROTECTION FEATURES
Ryobi lithium-ion batteries are designed with features that
protect the lithium-ion cells and maximize battery life.
If the tool stops during use, release the trigger to reset and
resume operation. If the tool still does not work, the battery
needs to be recharged.
INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERy PACk
See Figure 2, page 9.
Align raised rib inside tool with groove on battery pack.
Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack
snap into place and battery pack is secured in tool before
beginning operation.
WARNING:
Always remove battery pack from your tool when you are
assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when
not in use. Removing battery pack will prevent accidental
starting that could cause serious personal injury.
Depress the latches on each side of the battery pack to
remove the battery pack from the tool.
WARNING:
Battery products are always in operating condition.
Therefore, you should keep your fingers away from the
trigger when the tool is not in use. Carrying power tools
with your finger on the switch invites accidents.
LOADING NAILS
See Figure 3, page 9.
Nails with a head diameter less than 7/16 in. and a length
less than or equal to 3-1/2 in. are recommended for use
with the auto hammer.
Refer to the Nail Selection Chart below when choosing
nails for your specific application.
To load a nail, hold the auto hammer firmly by the tool
body, with fingers away from the trigger.
With the nose of the tool pointed away from you, feed
a nail into the magnetic sleeve. The magnetic sleeve
will hold the nail until you are ready to drive it into the
workpiece.
WARNING:
Keep the tool pointed away from yourself and others
when loading nails. Failure to do so could result in
possible serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Never load nails with the magnetic sleeve depressed.
Doing so could result in possible serious personal
injury.
