ATTACHING THE GRASS DEFLECTOR
WARNING.
The line cutting blade on the
grass deflector is sharp. Avoid contact
with the blade. Failure to avoid contact
can result in serious personal injury.
Attach the grass deflector to the mounting bracket
and align the holes. Tighten the four screws from
the bottom of the grass deflector through the
mounting plate and into the mounting bracket using
the supplied spark plug wrench and screwdriver.
CONNECTING THE UPPER AND LOWER DRIVE
SHAFTS
The lower drive shaft connects to the trimmer
assembly by means of a coupler device.
1. Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug
wire.
2. Loosen the clamp by turning the clamp knob
counterclockwise, Fig.5.
3. Align the shafts and insert the front shaft into
the rear shaft. Rotate the cutting head or blade
to make sure the assembly is successfully in
the right position.
4. Depress the flange (5.1), then tighten the
clamp knob securely by turning clockwise,
Fig.6.
NOTE:
If the flange is not fully depressed, the drive
shafts are not locked into place.
WARNING!
Be certain the clamp knob is
fully tightened before operating
equipment, check it periodically for
tightness during use to avoid serious
