Before installation
Requirements of the conduit system
For the full functionality of the automatic backflush filter F450, the following re-
quirements must be met and kept:
The medium supply pipe and drain pipe must be laid in streamline.
The cross sections of the inlet, outlet and drain pipes corresponds to those of
the filter inlet, outlet and drain at least.
And the supply and drain pipe must be laid without any mechanically stress to
the filter. This applies also under thermal load conditions of the pipes.
Requirements of the filter configuration
To ensure the perfect cleaning and function of the filter the following require-
ments must be met:
The different operating parameters such as filter nominal size, flow rate,
pressure and/or the pertinent pump characteristic must be considered in the
configuration and correctly implemented. They must not differ from the actual
operating parameters.
Particularly the drilling diameter of the orifice and the diameter of the flushing
disc affect the cleaning.
These components must be adapted on change of the operating parameters
(e.g. diameter of flushing pipe, operating pressure and flow rate) by SAB.
Requirements of the compressed air system
For the full functionality of the filter, the following requirements must be met and
kept:
Instrument air min.: 6.0 kg/cm² g (special 3.5 kg/cm² g),
air hose min. 10/1 mm
Relief valve, service unit
Air consumption (see Table 4-1)
