Installation
Mounting the filter without mechanically tension
In order to guarantee the proper function and optimal lifetime, the filter must be
mounted without mechanically tension in the pipe.
1.
The filter cover with the pneumatic cylin-
der can be delivered separately from fil-
ter body. We recommend initially to
mount the filter without the cover and
mounting the cover with the cylinder lat-
er.
2.
The filter may be mounted up to ND 400
horizontally or vertically in any direction
with all connections. From ND 500 the
filter should be mounted horizontally only
in consultation with the producer. The
filter should either be supported with a
pipe support directly mounted on the fil-
ter or by supporting the connecting
pipes. The filter cover with the pneumatic
cylinder has to be easily accessible for
the purpose of any maintenance. The
connecting size of the flushing line from
the flushing valve may be not be reduced
because this may lower the filter’s self-
cleaning capability. Beyond this, the filter
has to work with a differential pressure of
at least 8.7 psi (0.6 kg/cm
2
) between the
filter input and flushing line. The flushing
line should be filled with the medium. A
combination of high system pressure and
a freely discharging flushing line may
lead to damaging by vibration.
