Measuring the motor current
UNISAB S-Control has a 0-20 mA input for
measuring the motor current when con-
verted.
The converter,
which is extra equipment
,
converts the 0-1 Amp AC signal sent by the
current transformer to 0-20 mA. Please refer
to the drawing below.
The adjustment of UNISAB S-Control is
based on the conversion ratio of the current
transformer, e.g. 0-1/200 Amp, and is made
by using the
¯
column as described in the
chapter entitled
Changing parameters
.
For the example shown, type a value of
“200” in the display. The scaling is imple-
mented once this has been done and the pro-
cedure for changing a parameter has been
completed. The UNISAB S-Control will
now display the correct motor current while
the compressor is in operation.
It may be necessary to calibrate the conver-
ter when starting up. This is done by measu-
ring the motor current with a clamp am-
meter and calibrating the converter on
“CAL” until the UNISAB S-Control shows
the same as the clamp ammeter.
