PCI S32P I/O board
The S32P is a half-size board designed by SACMI to regulate light intensity and carry out the input/output interface
tasks during the process.
This board, interfaced with other peripherals, is used to:
- interface the vision system with the encoder;
- regulate the intensity of the LED lighting units;
- regulate the intensity of the white and stroboscopic lights;
- provide the optoisolated digital outputs and inputs for piloting the sensors, relays, ...;
- connect the image processing cards to the devices that pilot the lights.
The board is provided with the following:
- ten optoisolated digital inputs;
- 24 optoisolated digital outputs;
- 8 input/output connections to the image capture cards for trigger/strobe;
- 64 auxiliary 5 V digital inputs/outputs.
In addition, the operating logic of the board is determined by a program residing in the flash memory that is transfered
inside the EPLD whenever the PC is turned on.
The program can be different in relation to the configuration of the electronic equipment; each program corresponds
to a different board code.
The board is identified by a serial number stamped on the label

attached to the front connector. This serial number
appears briefly on the monitor along with the EPLD program version when the PC is booting.
The PCI IO board, as each PCI device, is a Plug & Play type, i.e. resources (addresses, interrupts, etc...) do NOT
have to be assigned by hand as it is done automatically.
To this aim, leave PNP in all the BIOS PCI resources as indicated in “Software installation instructions for vision
systems, paragraph Hardware configuration”.
