BLOCK DIAGRAM ILLUSTRATING HOW THE EJECTION DEVICES AND LED LIGHTING UNITS
ARE PILOTED
The led-type lighting unit consists of a parallel-connected number of leds and a heating element, fed by pulse voltage.
Brightness is adjusted by varying the amount of time the flash is emitted while keeping the voltage constant at 48
VDC.
The block diagram below shows that the lighting units
are fed by a constant voltage of 48 V, whereas the pulse
length is set by means of the board
SMC_I/O
. The IP image capture card
sends a pulse to the MONO
block and
the output of the MONO
block enters a
COMP block
, where is it compared with the content of a
REG register
.
The amount of time the pulse is emitted is changed by varying the contents of
REG
. This can be done by using the
operator’s interface.
The pulse enters the
DRIVER
, which is nothing more than a power amplifier, and is then transmitted to the lighting
unit.
The ejection devices are piloted in the same way.
