7.5.1
ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT OF THE SENSING EQUIPMENT AND CENTRAL SENSOR
These adjustments must be carried out on a work-bench.
First of all, remove the sensors from the machine by performing the following steps:
- Loosen the nut (3).
- Loosen the stay bolt (4)
- Raise the rod (5)
- Disconnect the coupling (7)
- Remove the sensor (6)
- Position the sensor (6) on the reference plate (9).
- Position the eccentric pin (13) in the intermediate position so that small adjustments can subsequently be made in
both directions.
- Mark the front part of the sensors (1 & 2) with suitable ink.
- Gently bring a lined sample cap into contact with the marked part of the sensor by exerting light pressure and turning
it (the number on the liner should correspond to the number of the sensing spindle to be adjusted).
- Check the liner to see whether the internal (1) or the external part (2) is in contact.
The liner should touch both the central sensor (1) and the external part (2) to an equal extent.
To obtain this condition, loosen or tighten the central sensor (1) as required.
- Set the comparator (10) , mounted on the central sensor (1) to “zero”.
- Screw in the sensor until the comparator reads a movement of 0.05 to 0.06 mm.
- Observe measurement “X” when the adjustment procedure has been completed.
- Make sure the sensors are all positioned by using the same measurement “X”.
Once the adjustments have been made, refit all of the sensors on the quality control unit.
- Put in the coupling (7).
- Secure the spindle (6) to the rod (5) making sure that the stop (which prevents rotation) is in its correct position.
- Tighten the stay bolt (4) and the nut (3).
