ATTENTION!
û
Do not mix different types of grease.
û
Do not introduce contaminants into the bearing, the housing or the grease.
Procedure for greasing
It is recommended to carry out lubrication with the group running following the procedure below:
-
Open the caps/valves for loading and unloading the grease;
-
Clean the grease insertion holes;
-
Check that the lubrication channel is clean;
-
Insert the necessary quantity of grease using the proper grease nipple;
-
Run the group for about 30 minutes to let the excess grease to come out;
-
Close the caps/valves.
If the operation is to be carried out with the motor stopped:
-
introduce less grease than necessary;
-
run the motor for a few minutes at rated speed;
-
stop the motor and top up with the necessary grease;
-
Run the group for about 30 minutes to let the excess grease to come out;
Characteristics of the greases to be used for normal operating conditions (Tamb = -10°C + 40°C, Tmax bearings = 110°C):
-
Base grease: mineral or PAO
-
Thickener: lithium soap
-
Temperature range: -30°C/+120°C
-
NLGI class: 2 or 3
-
Base oil viscosity at 40°C: 110 mm

Some types of grease that can be used:
For different conditions of use, contact SAER technical assistance or refer to the specific documentation of the bearings.
Dispose of residual and used grease in compliance with local regulations.
û
Do not make changes to the product without prior authorization.
·
Before carrying out any operation, disconnect the power supply and make sure that it cannot be restored:
comply with the requirements of EN 50110-1 "Working in the absence of voltage" during any type of
intervention.
7.2.3 CHECK OF THE INSULATION RESISTANCE
Measure the insulation resistance with a megohmmeter at 500 Vdc.
Measure between cables and ground. It is recommended to isolate and test the individual phases separately.
During the test on one of the phases the others must be grounded.
