NOTE
Flue gas discharge safety device (Fig. 2)
Purpose:
The appliance is equipped with a thermal discharge safety device which cuts off the gas supply to the burner on detection of a
problem in the discharge of the combustion gases.
Principle:
The sensor is a thermostat that opens an electrical contact once a certain temperature is exceeded, thus breaking the electric current
from the thermocouple. The regulator valve then shuts down the gas supply to the main and pilot burners. The appliance cannot be
relit until the heat sensor has cooled down.
Relighting the gas fire
The thermal safety device does not have to be reset.
Simply follow the operating procedure described in the instruction manual to put the gas fire back into operation.
Repeated interruption
In the event of repeated interruption, it is recommended to consult a specialist.
THE SAFETY DEVICE MUST UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BE DEACTIVATED !
The appropriate measures must be taken to remedy situations compromising the discharge of flue gases.
Replacing the flue gas discharge safety device
The discharge safety device may be replaced by original parts only.
Some conditions that may trigger the safety device are:
* A bad connection between the stove and the discharge duct.
* The discharge duct is completely or partially blocked by falling debris or the like.
* Insufficient chimney draught.
* Insufficient or zero air circulation around the gas fire.
