Trouble Shooting
Problem
Possible Causes
Remedy
Palift will not raise.
Springs are broken.
Replace springs, which are
guaranteed for life.
Palift
is
mechanically
damaged,
causing
mechanism to jam.
Inspect mechanism, paying
attention to roller paths, shock
absorber and ensuring that all
pivot pins are in place.
Palift is slow to raise or will
not raise to the top.
Incorrect spring selection.
Check the spring selection and
change springs if necessary.
Springs are deformed. From
time to time, a spring will 'sag'
or permanently deform. This
is evidenced by the free length
of the spring (length of the
spring when removed from the
Palift) being shorter than
before.
Replace the springs.
Palift will not lower.
Palift
is
mechanically
damaged,
causing
mechanism to jam.
Inspect mechanism, paying
attention to roller paths, shock
absorber and ensuring that all
pivot pins are in place.
Springs too stiff for load.
Change springs.
Turntable is difficult to rotate. Damaged or seized bearings. Replace bearings.
Damaged rotating ring.
Replace rotating ring.
Worn or deformed rotating
ring. After many years of
heavy use, the rolling action of
the bearings may deform the
running face of the rotating
ring.
Replace rotating ring.
Excessive bearing wear or
damage to the rotating ring
crossbar,
causing
the
crossbar to foul the adjacent
structure.
Replace bearings or replace
rotating ring.
