securely attached to the vehicle’s lower anchors? See

Is the belt tightened enough so the car seat does not
move more than 1 in (2.5 cm) from side to side? Check
the tightness of the install often to make sure it has not
loosened. See steps 8 and 10.
Has the tether been installed and tightened? See steps
4 and 9.

If the car seat moves more
than 1 in.
(2.5 cm),
you can
try:
• Pulling the belt tighter;
OR
• Reinstalling the car seat;
OR
• Changing to a different
seating location;
OR
• Switching to a different
install method (LATCH or
vehicle belt).
Tighten Tether
Push fi rmly on the back
of the car seat and
pull the free end of the
tether strap to remove
all of the slack.
