Chapter 05: Securing Your Sahara NetSlate
5. From the window that appears, tap the “Shutdown” button
to turn off the system.
6. Power on the
Sahara NetSlate.
Windows will
load to the
desktop and
a window will
appear asking
you to create a
TPM password.
Tap on
Auto-
matically
to
have Windows
create a secure
password for
you.
7. A new window
will appear
prompting you
to save your
TPM ownership
password, which
is displayed
for you along
with an option
to
Save the
Password
to a
removable drive
such as a USB
memory stick,
and another to
the password. You must choose to do at least one of
these options in order to continue.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Regardless of which option you choose to save
your TPM ownership password, it is
critical
you
do not lose this pass-
word, or any data you encrypt could be lost to you forever.
There is
no way to circumvent or recover this password if you lose it.
Owning the TPM is a critical step in securing your system. To
create the password we recommend letting Windows create
one for you for maximum security.
Saving your password is critical to protecting your data, and
so you must choose one of the above steps to continue.
