Adjusting the Left-Right Positioning of the Shuttle Gib Hook

1� 

Set the machine to straight stitch and place needle in 

center position�

2� 

Make a mark (

A

) on the shuttle race guide shaft where 

the halves of the compressible clamp meet (

B

)� If the 

shaft should accidentally rotate, realign the mark with 

the clamp gap�

3� 

Incrementally loosen screw (

C

) until light taps will 

move the shuttle assembly (

D

) in either direction�

4� 

Carefully move the assembly to position the hook as 

close to the needle as possible without deflecting (

E

)� 

5� 

With the mark on the shuttle race guide shaft (

A

) and 

where the halves of the compressible clamp meet (

B

aligned, tighten screw (

C

)�

After adjusting/verifying the correct left-right position of the shuttle gib hook, proceed to check the rotational 

positioning of the shuttle race guide shaft (p� 53)�
