DIAGNOSTIC BATTERY CHARGER
1 | Product description
The saito Diagnostic Battery Charger (saito Charger, for short) is an advanced
and intelligent charger for 6 V and 12 V lead-acid, lead-gel, lead-fleece, AGM,
calcium and pure-lead automotive batteries. State-of-the-art charging
technology, in conjunction with an intelligent software controller, ensures
optimum charging and battery care. An LCD display shows you the battery’s
state of charge at all times. The saito Charger has overload, reverse polarity
and short-circuit protection, and produces no sparks when connecting up to the
battery.
These instructions for use apply exclusively to the saito Charger. They contain
important information on safety and handling. Read these instructions for use
carefully, in particular the safety instructions, before using the saito Charger.
Failure to follow these instructions for use can lead to damage or serious injury.
Keep these instructions for use in a safe place for future reference. If you pass
the saito Charger on to a third party, you must also hand over the instructions
for use. The instructions for use are based on the standards and regulations
applicable in the European Union and reflect current state-of-the-art technology.
If abroad, you should also observe any country-specific guidelines and laws.
2 | Quick-start guide
It is essential to first of all read the Safety Instructions and the section
“Preparation, connection and operation”.
1. Connect the charging clamps to the correct battery terminals. Attach the
red cable to the positive, and the black cable to the negative (if you do not
remove the battery from your motorcycle, you should attach the black clamp
(negative) to the vehicle chassis or engine block/vehicle earthing point).
2. Plug the charger’s power plug into a power outlet (wall socket)
(220 V-240 V/50 Hz). The LCD display lights up. If the charger recognises
the battery, either a 6 V or a 12 V battery symbol will appear on the display
together with the battery voltage measured.
3. The “MODE” button allows you to switch between motorcycle charging mode
6 V
or
12 V
with 1 A, car charging mode
6 V
or
12 V
with 4 A and AGM
charging mode with 1 A or 4 A. Charging starts automatically, and the
charge level indicator flashes.
